SEE THE LIGHT

“See the light in others, and treat them as if that is all you see.”  --Wayne Dyer

These words popped out at me.  My bedtime reading a few nights ago.  And in the moments before turning out the light, in the moments before my beloved walked back into our room, I paused.  I paused because he’s exactly right.  Neither my beloved nor the world needed that touch of annoyance, that bit of impatience, that I had felt. And truthfully neither did I.

I am grateful for the reminder … so I could see the light and choose that that was all there was to see.

Gratitude

Gratitude.

It's such a simple thing, but I love walking on my land. Even walking down the driveway. (To paint the picture: gravel driveway through trees, an eighth of a mile long.) I feel so grateful for where I live and the plethora of wildlife that come to visit.

Yesterday a large snapping turtle "sat" in the middle of my driveway. (Read: I feared a little for my bare toes as I skirted to the edge of the drive and edged by!)

Today, a pair of late-summer fawns. They startled, and each ran in a different direction. One, up the hill and out of sight. The other ran a short way and stopped. (I think she was trying to hide behind the trees!)

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, is there one small thing to be grateful for?

What Would You Do If...?

Think about it.  Really think about it.  What would you do?  And whatever it is, what if you actually succeeded?  Does the thought make you smile? Maybe take your breath away...?

Maybe it's time for that small first step ...
